Everyday is your today,
But my today will never come.
The trees are green again, you say,
It all depends on how you see the world;
Whether you can still see the world…

And there's always another door to try,
Always another tomorrow,
Always a chance to try again,
Always more room for sorrow.

I wish you could stop me
Or that I could stop myself
From falling like a star
Sinking like a stone
Watching the world I'm in
Take its toll again.

I wish I could learn to love the dust;
Ignore the dawn that won't stop coming
Can't you see?
There's no hope in me;
'Next time' is always yet to come…

Tomorrow's children need a light -
But I've burnt myself away…
There's no light left inside my soul,
And I don't know the way,
I cannot help them stay,
Because I'm lost anyway…

I'm so sorry, so sorry, so sorry
I try, but I'm too tired of trying.
I guess that one day I was lucky
But somewhere along the way
Luck stole my life and ran away…

And there's always another door to try,
Always another tomorrow,
Always a chance to try again,
Always more room for sorrow.

Author's Comments

Written for *The-Literati's Literati Musical, inspired by the song 'Lucky You' by LostProphets.

I read the lyrics, and I felt that they only showed one side of the story. Here's the other, as I see it.

I know this might not be one of my best... but well I tried =P

Thanks for reading!

Feedback and comments most appreciated. =)

I like this. You've definitely captured the other side to that song. Not easy to do, and I :salute: you. Great piece!

This is why there is no such thing as perfect.
A flawless beauty would be blank without any appeal nor character. Its scars are what defines it and what inspires emotion... from that moment, it becomes art.

It's beautiful :) I love the comparisons you make.. some sentences seem to long (they don't fit in the rythm) but it's not disturbing, I think, it makes it.. more open, I think :) Nice work :)

OOKay I'm very glad you liked it!!! Because I thought it wasn't that good.. the thought that I had to keep in line with other lyrics.. I dunno it was a new experience. I'm glad it turned out well!!! =D

Wait, i think it's fine to write a story... Like it said either poetry or prose... I'm not very sure.. It's the first time I write something about something that's already written.. =P

Thanks a lot for your comment and encouragement! I wish you best of luck!! =)
